Frequently asked questions

What is a Peppol or UBL invoice?

Since 1 January 2026 Belgian businesses must invoice each other electronically over the Peppol network. Such an e-invoice is an XML file in UBL format (Peppol BIS Billing 3.0): easy for computers, hard for humans.

How do I open an XML invoice?

Drop the file in the box above or pick it with the button. You immediately see a readable invoice with lines, VAT breakdown and payment details, ready to print or save as PDF.

Is my invoice sent anywhere?

No. The file is processed in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored. The page even works offline.

What does the quick check verify?

The totals (EN 16931 rules BR-CO-10 to BR-CO-16), check digits of Belgian VAT numbers, IBAN and structured payment reference, and whether the document declares Peppol BIS 3.0. It does not replace full Schematron validation.

Is there a PDF inside the invoice?

Often yes. Suppliers embed a PDF version in the XML. You find it under "Attachments".
